There is a lot that goes behind determining the success of a films. Ajay Devgn is regarded is one of the leading actors in the industry currently. That is does not disregard the idea that he never had a dull period. In between hits, some of his films did not meet expectations.

One such film is a 2019 release that boasts of an ensemble star cast in its truest sense. Before the release, it became a highly anticipated comedy drama but did not live upto the hype. The movie was ‘Total Dhamaal’

Ajay Devgn made his debut in 1991 with ‘Phool Aur Kante’ that went on to become a commercial success. Till date, he has now worked I over 100 films that is mixed bag of different character shades, narratives, genre and some flop and some hits.

Amongst the many films he has signed, one franchise remains a cult classic – ‘Dhamaal’. The original film was released in 2007 with Arshad Warsi, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaafri, Aashish Chaudhary, Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. It became a massive hit and remains a pop culture meme till date.

Subsequently, in 2011, its sequel was released under the title ‘Double Dhamaal’, which couldn’t match the hype of the first part. Eight years later, a sequel reboot happened with Deshmukh, Warsi and Jaffrey returning with an entirely new cast and a fresh story, having no connections to its predecessors.

‘Total Dhamaal’s cast features -Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Boman Irani, Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Esha Gupta in significant roles almost others.

The film was reportedly made with a budget around Rs 90-100 crores. It managed to mint Rs 155.6 crores net in India and made a worldwide collection of about Rs 232 crores according to report by Sacnilk.
