When Akshay Kumar shared a picture of him and Suniel Shetty last week, all we wished was to see them together in a film. The true blue action heroes of Bollywood, they have entertained us together in several films, most loved outing being their Raju and Ghanshyam (Shyam) in Hera Pheri franchise. However, while the cast of Hera Pheri 3 is already decided – Paresh Rawal, Suniel, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, the film’s fate lies in jeopardy after the director Neeraj Vora passed away last year.
But don’t lose heart as Akki and Suniel might still be reuniting for another project. Without further ado let us reveal that the film might be Housefull 4. Yes, you heard that right. The film boasts of a bigger cast and a different story (reincarnation) that will be set in two eras, kind of making it a period comedy. So far, Bobby Deol, Abhishek Bachchan and Kriti Sanon have already been cast for this film. While it cannot be complete without Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh, we might also see Suniel joining the comic caper.
The actor himself dropped a hint while posting the picture with Akshay and Sajid Nadiadwala and tagging the official Twitter handle of Nadiadwala & Grandsons- who are bankrolling Housefull 4. He wrote, “Waqt Hamara Tha, Waqt Hamara Hai, Waqt Hamara Rahega! Some bonds are not time bound! #SajidNadiadwala @akshaykumar @WardaNadiadwala @NGEMovies (sic).” Incidentally, Waqt Hamara Hai (1993) was also a Nadiadwala film.
This is so exciting and we can’t wait for an official confirmation. If this team comes together, we are sure this fourth installment will break all previous box office records made by the franchise. Interestingly, the film which is said to have a budget of around Rs 75 crore, has already bagged Rs 200 crore.
According to reports, Fox Star India has acquired all rights for Housefull 4 for Rs 200 crore, which includes theatrical distribution, overseas, satellite and digital rights of the film.
