This year, in particular, seems quite a promising one for the actress, with films like Raazi, Brahmastra and Gully Boy in her bag. Well, just like her career, even her love life is making headlines now. Rumour mills have started buzzing about a brewing romance between her and her Brahmastra co-star, Ranbir Kapoor. However, Midday in a recent article reported that, not Kapoor, but Kavin Mittal is the guy, Alia is growing closer to.

For the uninitiated, Kavin is the founder of a popular messaging application. The duo reportedly met during the World Economic Forum in October 2017, following which they have grown really fond of each other. The leading tabloid quoted a source as saying that whenever she needs any help, the first person she contacts is Kavin. Furthermore, the source said, “They want to take time to let their friendship evolve. Given their commitments, they see little of each other. But it’s certainly a friendship that can go a long way.” Additionally the source informed the tabloid that the duo hasn’t been spotted together till now, as “they don’t want to make a public statement yet”. Meanwhile, on the professional front Alia is playing the role of a simple Muslim girl in Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh. The film is being helmed by Zoya Akhar. Pics of the actors shooting in the slums of Mumbai were leaked a few days ago. Besides, the actress posted a “100 days to go for Raazi” pic on her Instagram account. In the film, she is playing a Kashmiri girl who is also an Indian spy married to a high ranking Pakistani army official. Starring opposite Vicky Kaushal, and helmed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is slated to release on May 11, 2018. The film is based on the book, Calling Sehmat, authored by Harinder S Sikka.
