Sparkling, bubbly and sensational, Brahmastra star Alia Bhatt dressed up true to her personality at the premiere of her best friend, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor’s debut film, Guilty. Taking to her Instagram handle, Alia shared a slew of pictures featuring her in a thigh-high mauve dress, tied at the waist. Sporting a plunging neckline, the dress was from Alia’s other best friend, Meghna Goyal’s clothing brand – Summer Somewhere. Letting down her mid-parted hair, Alia left the look simple sans any accessories. Wearing a nude lip shade, Alia struck sensuous poses for the camera. She captioned the pictures, “Today is the best day!!I am attending the premiere of my best friend first movie, while wearing a brand created by my other best friend! TODAY is truly the best day (sic)” and punctuated it with a heart emoji. Netflix original film Guilty stars actors Kiara Advani, Taher Shabbir, Gurfateh Singh Pirzada and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. Guilty reportedly explores different versions of truth that emerge when a small-town girl accuses the college heartthrob of rape. Helmed by Ruchi Narain, the film is bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Production.

On the professional front, Alia is gearing up for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra that is slated to hit the cinema screens on December 8, 2020. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor essays the role of Shiva while Alia plays his love interest Isha. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of Ranbir’s guru and Mouni Roy is essaying the role of an antagonist. The film also features Dimple Kapadia and Akkineni Nagarjuna in important roles. Brahmastra is a trilogy produced by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions.

Initially, the film was supposed to release in Christmas 2019 but got delayed due to VFX work and it was pushed for the Summer 2020 release. Another update came about the film being further delayed to Winter 2020 which has been confirmed now. The crew was spotted shooting for the climax of the film in Manali and Himachal Pradesh in December 2019. Later, the team moved to Varanasi for a song shoot.
