Pushpa 2: The Rise has broken records worldwide, earning over a massive Rs 1000 crore at the box office. Allu Arjun, the film’s lead star, has seen his popularity soar, with reports claiming he could earn Rs 300 crore from the film’s success. However, despite this remarkable achievement, Allu Arjun is not India’s highest-paid actor, which might surprise some fans.

According to The Hollywood Reporter India, the title of India’s highest-paid actor still belongs to Shah Rukh Khan, thanks to his successful career comeback. In 2023, SRK’s film Pathaan made waves globally, and he took home a significant portion of the profits. Reportedly, SRK earned over Rs 350 crore from the film, as he received 55% of the profits, making him the highest-paid actor in the country. While he could have earned even more from his next big hit, Jawan, SRK waived his fees for the film, given his role as a producer.

Despite his successful year, SRK has no film releases planned for 2024. Nonetheless, his earning power remains unmatched in Bollywood. Alongside him, other top stars also make impressive earnings. Salman Khan, for example, earns about Rs 200 crore from satellite and digital rights, while Aamir Khan takes 60 percent of profits from his films. Hrithik Roshan, known for his high-budget movies, earns over Rs 100 crore per film. Popular actors Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Ranbir Kapoor each make between Rs 70-80 crore per film.

In the south, superstars Rajinikanth, Vijay, Prabhas, and Ram Charan are also top earners. Rajinikanth and Vijay are believed to earn more than Rs 200 crore per film, cementing their place as some of the most bankable actors in Indian cinema. With Allu Arjun’s rise to stardom and the continued dominance of top actors like Shah Rukh Khan, the film industry continues to thrive on both box office success and star power.
