Ameesha Patel started her Bollywood career with the blockbuster movie Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai in 2000. The following year, in 2001, she delivered another hit with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Although her career began on a high note, it later saw a series of flop films. Now 49 years old, Ameesha is still unmarried. Recently, rumours about her relationship with Pakistani actor Imran Abbas have been making headlines. However, Ameesha has openly addressed these rumours and clarified that there’s nothing romantic between them.

A couple of days ago Ameesha’s cosy pics with Imran Abbas went viral that led to speculation about their potential marriage. Breaking her silence, Ameesha spoke to Hindi Rush and said, “This has been going on for the past two or three years. Did any marriage happen? We meet at events, especially functions abroad. We are good friends, nothing more. People just need an opportunity to gossip. If two good-looking people are seen together, rumours start. He’s single, I’m single, and people begin manifesting a wedding that doesn’t exist, leading to these rumours. That’s why they are called rumours.”

Who is Imran Abbas?

Imran Abbas, born on October 15, 1982, in Islamabad, Pakistan, is a renowned actor in the Pakistani film and TV industry. He made his acting debut with Umrao Jaan Ada in 2003 and later on appeared in numerous serials. He get widely recognised after portraying Hammad Raza in the 2011 spiritual-romantic series Khuda Aur Mohabbat, which proved to be a turning point in his career. In 2014, he made his debut in Bollywood opposite Bipasha Basu in Vikram Bhatt’s Creature 3D, for which he was nominated at Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut category. In 2015, Abbas featured in Jaanisaar directed by Muzaffar Ali alongside Pernia Qureshi.
