Actress Aishwarya Rai has been stealing hearts ever since she arrived at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 in a pristine white sheer handwoven Kadwa Banarasi saree, paired with heirloom high jewellery. What truly stole the limelight was her sindoor (vermilion). Netizens and fans, including fashion critics, praised the actress for her look. They loved how Aishwarya chose a saree for her red carpet appearance at Cannes. She even shut the trolls by confidently flaunting her wedding ring and sindoor amid divorce rumours with Abhishek Bachchan.

Soon after her look went viral, her father-in-law, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, posted a tweet on X. The superstar has been sharing blank tweets for some time, and on Wednesday also, he shared a blank tweet with the serial number.

For those who don’t know, Aishwarya is a stalwart of the Cannes Film Festival. She made her debut in 2002. This was her 22nd time and she aced it like a princess. The tradition of the Bachchan family continued as her daughter Aaradhya also joined her mom.
Manish Malhotra designed the entired look for Aishwarya. He also took to his Instagram to share the details from planning to execution of her Cannes look. He wrote, “The OG Indian Queen of Cannes @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb ❤️embraces Classic White Handloom in a handwoven kadwa ivory Handloom Banarasi saree with a handwoven tissue drape and imperial heirloom of rubies from @manishmalhotrajewellery”.
