Pran Krishan Sikand, a versatile actor born on 12th February 1920 had played all kinds of roles from a romantic hero to a deadly villain. On his 100th birth anniversary, Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday, took to social media to pay an ode to late actor Pran. BigB shared some of his old pictures with the late actor and penned a heartfelt tribute to him. He wrote, “On his 100th Birth Anniversary .. Pran Saheb an ode to him …The sophisticated elegance of dignified presence. A demeanour of a quiet unpronounced unmistakably marked discipline. The tenderness of a considerate colleague. Soft-spoken, reserved, Urdu verse literate, and all other justifiable similar sentiments, for the gentleman called Pran. And none of the above could ever be related to the kind of roles he mostly played on screen – the negative villain! Such was the calibre of his acting prowess! This is a distinction beyond par!”. Legendary actor Pran is known for negative characters on screen. He has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in classics such as Don, Amar Akbar Anthony and Zanjeer. He was bestowed with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India in the year 2001. In 2013, Pran was honoured with the highest award of film industry, Dada Phalke Award. Pran started his career in 1945 playing the role of a villain in the Punjabi film Yamla Jat. He contributed in 350 almost films. He died on 12th July 2013 at the age of 93. Pran was famous for his roles as a villain but he was a real gentleman in his personal life.
