Director Anurag Kashyap who has given us some of the most intriguing films, has failed to recreate his magic this time with Bombay Velvet. His latest offering Bombay Velvet, starring Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor has been denounced to death by audience and critics alike. To compound the maverick director’s misery, celebrated film maker Ram Gopal Varma and Anurag’s long time rival went took to popular micro-blogging site Twitter and posted a series of tweets criticizing the Kashyap-directed film. The wannabe Kamaal R Khan, who rose to fame soon after passing his ‘2 Rs’ comments on almost every celebrity, reviewed Bombay Velvet and much to our surprise, KRK does make sense this time! KRK referred to Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer as ‘Ch*****pa’ and for all those whose endurance levels were tested for three long hours are sure to agree with KRK’s review. We do agree that Bombay Velvet is one of the most disastrous films we have watched in recent times but Kashyap is expected to give a fitting reply to his critics in his next outing! His films have highly influenced audiences and the critics have always raved about them. With Bombay Velvet turning out to be a damp squib, it looks like Anurag his task cut out to work his way back. In an open letter to all those who have been throwing brickbats at Bombay Velvet, Anurag Kashyap, paying no heed to the criticism, has said that he does not regret making the film. He took to Facebook and posted, “Maybe our experimenting with the narrative didn’t work for most but i firmly believe in the film. This is the film i wanted to make and i am glad i got to make it. I am very happy that all those who have been part of this journey firmly stand with it. No i am not depressed or hiding, this has taught us a lot and is my absolute personal favourite, there have been no regrets whatsoever.” (sic) Even though everyone has been bad-mouthing the movie, the director quoted Arnold Schwarzenegger and signed off, stating that he ‘WILL BE BACK’!
