We Indians are believed to be known for abiding by the moral values set by our elders. Among those principles, one of the most important ones is to respect women. There is also a saying, “Behind every successful man, there is a woman!” However, when it comes to losing in life or failure, men don’t give a f**k about respecting women! Case in point is the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. After putting in a stellar display over the course of six weeks, the Indian cricket team bowed out of the tournament after falling to co-hosts Australia by 95 runs. So what was the reason behind the Men in Blue’s failure to defend their title? MS Dhoni’s decisions as skipper or Virat Kohli’s failure to score more than a run? Neither! Apparently, it was Anushka Sharma’s fault! She went to Australia, spent her hard earned money to watch the game and behold – India lost! The NH10 actress was labelled as the unlucky charm and a distraction for lover Mr Kohli by going out for dinner on Tuesday, two days before the match on March 25.
Take a look at the disgusting tweets and messages on Anushka being circulated on social networking sites and WhatsApp! You will be forced to ask: Why do we have to stoop so low? Can’t we be gracious in defeat? How is Anushka Sharma’s presence even related to Team India’s performance against Australia? Why do we have to blame some third party who doesn’t have a direct or indirect impact on the outcome of the match?

Even I would really love to blame Ms Anushka Sharma for going to Australia just to support the Indian cricket team and her beau Virat Kohli (sarcasm). After all, the 26-year-old would have never suffered such abuses if she had not travelled to Sydney! But then we belong to a free country where women are raped at will, eve-teasing is a hobby and are just born to do household chores. A grand salute to all these disgusting Indians and blessed be the womb that gave birth to them!
