Arjun Kapoor‘s last two releases Half Girlfriend and Mubarakan did fabulously at the box office. The actor has now become a little choosy about the films he is signing. According to reports he had signed director duo Raj & DK’s next film Farzi. But now the buzz is that he has opted out of the film. Well, this is apparently because of the failure of Sidharth Malhotra‘s A Gentleman failure. Arjun in talks for Farzi, until recently. But then the director duo’s A Gentleman, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez, released and things changed.
As per a report in Mid Day, ” Arjun was in talks for Farzi, until recently. But then the director duo’s A Gentleman, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez, released last week and tanked at the box office. As reports started trickling in, he felt that at this point in his career, it wouldn’t be wise for him to act in a heist film. The Farzi project in case hadn’t gone beyond an offer, and due to factors that didn’t align, Arjun decided not to take it up. The film hadn’t reached the monetary discussion stage either. Arjun is keen to do a rom-com like Namastey Canada, which he starts next year.” Smart move, isn’t it?
But what made Arjun recommend his cousin Harshvardhan Kapoor‘s name for Farzi? Yes, the report suggested that the Mubarakan star suggested Harsh’s name for his role in Farzi. We wonder if Harsh will say yes to the film or not? While talking to an entertainment daily, one of the directors Nidimoru said, ” Yes, we were in talks for Farzi with Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, but the talks were at initial stages, and they fell through. Then we got busy with the release of A Gentleman. Now, we are figuring out how to take things forward, and which actor to approach. As far as casting Harsh is concerned, it is too early to talk about it”.
