Ayushmann Khurrana To Join Forces With Karan Johar and Aakash Kaushik For a ‘Spy Comedy’: Reports

Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most celebrated actors in the Bollywood industry. Over the years, the actor has given different hits Vicky Donor, Dream Girl, Article 15 and others. Now, a fresh set of reports claim that Ayushmann will feature in Karan Johar’s upcoming spy film. According to Pinkvilla, the actor is gearing up for his first project with the Karan Johar-spearheaded Dharma Production. This will be the first time when both Ayushmann and Karan will join forces for a film. 

The report reveals, that the film will be held by Aakash Kaushik and is touted to be a one-of-its-kind spy comedy. “Karan and Guneet have been very excited about this subject as the script has shaped up well with a perfect blend of espionage elements with comedy. The script tick marks all the boxes of a commercial film as it has scale, thrill, and action with a lot of comedy, and the trio of Karan, Guneet, and Aakash feel that Ayushmann Khurrana fits the character to the T,” revealed a source close to the development.

The movie is anticipated to be a quintessential Ayushmann Khurrana vehicle, as it defies all the conventions of spy films made in Hindi Cinema so far. “The film goes on floors in a couple of months and the official announcement with title is around the corner. The makers are in advanced stages of discussion with Sara Ali Khan to play the female lead,” the source added.

Aakash Kaushik, known for his contributions as a writer to several comedy films, is poised to make his debut with this spy comedy. Preparations are currently underway, and the production team aims to commence filming by June 2024. The project is a collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.
