Baaghi 3 First-Day Box Office: Actors Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi 3 is off to a good start at the Box Office. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film collected Rs 17.50 crore on its opening day and emerged as the biggest opener of the year so far, beating the likes of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Love Aaj Kal and Street Dancer 3D among others. The first-day total of Baaghi 3 was lower than what the second film in franchise collected, however, it showed a good trend at the single screens despite the coronavirus scare and the pre-Holi festivities in the country.

Baaghi 2, that released in 2018, opened to Rs 25.10 crore at the Box Office. Baaghi 3 was expected to surpass this figure with its release considering the huge buzz around the film. However, seems like the health scare kept a large chunk of the audience at bay. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh released the latest Box Office figures of Baaghi 3 on Twitter and wrote, “#CoronaVirus scare, #Pre-#Holi dull phase, Examination period Yet, #Baaghi3 takes a big start on Day 1… Emerges biggest opener of 2020 [so far]… Fifth film of #TigerShroff to open in double digits… Single screens excel, plexes decent… Fri ₹ 17.50 cr. #India biz.” (sic)

Baaghi 3 is now the second-best solo opener for Tiger. War, that featured Hrithik Roshan alongside him, collected a humongous Rs 53.35 crore on its first day, also benefitting amazingly from the Gandhi Jayanti holiday. In terms of Tiger’s solo-releases, Baaghi 2 still holds the top position by opening at Rs 25.10 crore on a Good-Friday holiday. With Rs 17.50, Baaghi 3 comes third, followed by Student of The Year 2 at Rs 12.06 crore and Baaghi at Rs 11.94 crore. The actor’s other releases – A Flying Jatt, Munna Michael and Heropanti opened in the single figures with the first-day collection between Rs 6-7 crore.
