The South Indian film Amaran, which has already crossed rs 130 crores, made a significant impact with a blockbuster opening, achieving the rs 100 crore milestone.
This Diwali, two highly anticipated movies—Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again—have made their way to the big screens. Both Kartik Aaryan and Ajay Devgn’s films are performing well at the box office. However, before these releases, the South Indian film Amaran, which has already crossed rs 130 crores, made a significant impact with a blockbuster opening, achieving the rs 100 crore milestone within just four days. With such impressive performance, fans are expecting the film to continue earning well in the coming days.
Helmed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, Amaran features two of the biggest actors in the industry, including Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. The movie was released on October 31, 2024. On its opening day, the film made rs 21 crore, while on the second day, it saw a slight dip, earning rs 19.15 crore. On day three, the movie earned rs 21 crore, and on day four, it minted rs 20.81 crore. This brings the film’s total to rs 82.76 crore. For those unfamiliar, the movie was released in five languages: Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam.
Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film is a biographical drama centered on the life of the late Major Mukund Varadharajan, who lost his life in the 2014 Shopian encounter. A posthumous recipient of the Ashoka Chakra Award, Major Varadharajan is portrayed by Sivakarthikeyan, with Sai Pallavi playing his wife, Indu Rebeccan Varghese. With its impressive box office performance, Amaran is poised to become the fifth highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024, following Raayan, Maharaja, Goat, and Vettaiyan.
In terms of occupancy rate, the movie witnessed the highest occupancy in Tichy, with 99.33 percent. Cities like Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Pondicherry, Salem, Vellore, and Mumbai also reported high occupancy rates. With such success over the last three days, the movie is expected to soon cross rs 200 crores.
