In the hands of director Ali Abbas Zafar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan emerges as a gripping espionage thriller that nicely blends action, humour, AI and a cast of attractive people. Zafar’s direction ensures that the film strikes the perfect balance, offering just the right dose of adrenaline-pumping action sequences, and keeping you on the edge of your seats.
The story follows Captain Firoz aka Freddy, the Bade Miyan (Akshay Kumar) and Captain Rakesh aka Rocky, the Chote Miyan (Tiger Shroff), two court-martialled officers who are unapologetically patriotic. They are on a mission to stop the devilish Dr Kabir aka Pralay (Prithviraj Sukumaran) from destroying India. What sets this film apart is not just its action-packed sequences, but also the fresh pairing of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. The camaraderie between the lead actors adds depth to their characters, making them more relatable and likeable.

Manushi Chhillar is great as Captain Misha, showing off her awesome fighting skills and dedication to her role. Alaya F adds a cool vibe to the movie as nerdy Dr Pam, and she nails her funny moments with perfect timing. However, Sonakshi Sinha doesn’t get much to do in her small role as Captain Priya.

Prithviraj is clearly one of the best things about the film. He shines as a tech-savvy villain who takes revenge after unleashing an AI-powered mayhem in India, adding an element of intrigue and suspense. His character creates a war-like situation with neighbouring countries which can lead to India’s financial and defence capabilities going down. Prithviraj’s portrayal, particularly behind the mask, exudes a sense of terror that adds depth to the storyline and keeps viewers engaged.
