The Banjo teaser has released and we quite like it! It may have a distinct Maharashtrian flavour to it, directed by the award-winning Ravi Jadhav after all, but it will do more good to actor Riteish Deshmukh than any of his earlier Bollywood films may have. Watching the teaser we feel, Riteish has arrived as the real hero with this film! The actor has had very few hits and mostly those films having an ensemble cast, like his next film Housefull 3 as well. Ravi Jadhav has previously directed the superhit Balak-Palak, a film on sex education for children. He has also made the superb Natarang starring Atul Kulkarni.

In Banjo, Riteish is seen rejigging his energy from his first Marathi film as lead hero – Lai Bhaari, which was also his production. Banjo shows Riteish as an action hero who kicks some ass fighting with people and also is a kickass banjo player. The movie traces the journey of the age-old instrument in Maharashtra.

But the surprise element in Banjo is Nargis Fakhri who is seen in a Maharashtrian avatar and looks rather hot in it. Divya Gambhir has designed the Nauvari saree of Nargis.

Another surprise is that actor Abhishek Bachchan, a good friend and co-star of Riteish, has given a voiceover in the Banjo teaser in the beginning! The Banjo poster as well as the motion poster were also released earlier in the day to create a buzz about the movie ahead of its teaser release. Banjo releases on September 23, 2016, in theatres.
