Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has quite a few films in his kitty; the actor has a packed schedule for the next two years. Salman, whose calendar includes Race 3, Bharat, Kick 2, Dabangg 3, is all set to feature in an upcoming comedy-drama, ‘Welcome To New York’ for a song, which also stars Karan Johar, Sonakshi Sinha, Diljit Dosanjh, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani in pivotal roles in the film. The actor, who recently launched the trailer of the ensemble cast comedy on his Twitter handle, and Sonakshi Sinha have reunited for Welcome To New York, before the upcoming third installment of the Dabangg franchise.

Before they get together for the third Dabangg film, the duo has shot for a song that features in the actress’s upcoming comedy. Yes, you read that right, Salman, who wrapped the first (Mumbai) schedule of the highly anticipated film Race 3 a couple of days ago, has shot for a (Welcome To New York) song with Sonakshi, and the makers of the film have released the song titled ‘Nain Phisal Gaye’ today. Yes, Salman, who soon after Race 3 will soon begin work on his next which is Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat, is dabbling in multiple films and has no time to relax; the superstar, a few days ago, shot for the promo of the reality game show Dus Ka Dum 3.

Talking about the song, Sonakshi told the leading tabloid, “It was really exciting to be re-uniting with Salman for our third film together after Dabangg and Dabangg 2. We shot the song entirely in New York. It was nostalgic in many ways, the romantic, melodious song has been filmed beautifully.” The song titled ‘Nain Phisal Gaye’ has been composed by Sajid-Wajid, while the lyrics has been penned by Kaunsar Munir.

The actress can’t wait to shoot her fourth film with the 52-year-old actor as she told the daily, “I’m definitely a part of the next film in the Dabangg franchise. We start shooting this summer and our recent song together only makes me more excited about Dabangg 3.” Meanwhile, director Chakri Toleti, said, “The film is about two youngsters who land up in New York for an awards ceremony and the rollercoaster ride that follows is all about love and laughter, songs and masti.” ALSO READ: Kick 2: Salman Khan Will Not Romance Jacqueline Fernandez In The Sequel?

Speaking of the first song (titled ‘Pant Mein Gun’) they shot for the film, Sonakshi recalled how it was a complete chaos as they shot it during a live award show. She said, “No one knew what we were doing and even the fans on the red carpet were thoroughly confused. First, Diljit (Dosanjh, co-star) and I came out in our costumes for the shot and spotting us, the fans started calling out to us. We had to stop and announce that we were shooting a film and requested them to let us continue filming. However, they failed to understand and continued screaming for us. Later, I changed and went back on the red carpet in a different outfit and that flummoxed them even further.”

Helmed by Chakri Toleti and bankrolled by Jackky Bhagnani and Vashu Bhagnani, Welcome To New York is slated to release on February 23, 2018, while her upcoming third installment of the Dabangg franchise is said to go on floors in June this year. On the professional front, Sonakshi’s other release of the year is Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns, the sequel of the 2016 sleeper hit Happy Bhag Jayegi. The film also stars the leading lady of the first part, Diana Penty and is directed by Mudassar Aziz. Watch this space for further updates.
