Bigg Boss Malayalam: Host Mohanlal Introduces The 16 Contestants on the Show
The show premiered on June 24th this year
Bigg Boss is one of the most controversial shows on Indian television. After the phenomenal success of the show in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, the show will now be seen in Malayalam. The first season of Bigg Boss Malayalam premiered on Asianet on June 24 with superstar Mohanlal as the host. The show began with the host introducing the concept to the audience. The Malayalam superstar donned a suit and introduced each of the 16 contestants from different walks of life. It would be interesting to witness how they all live under the same roof for 100 days. The superstar added that the contestants were required to speak in Malayalam always.
Earlier this year, Mohanlal made his TV debut with Lal Salam. The star took the audience through the specially built Bigg Boss house where the contestants would spend the following weeks together. Thereafter, the host introduced each of the contestants one after another. First contestant to enter the house was actor Shwetha Menon, who was seen exchanging warm pleasantries with Mohanlal. The host later took her to the house with a risque comment that everyone could soon see her taking a bath in the swimming pool.
Other participants in the house are TV actor Deepan Murali, comedian Jagathy’s daughter Sreelakshmi, TV actor Srinish Aravind, theatre and film actor Hima Shankar, actor-singer Aristo Suresh, activist Diya Sana who is known for the Kiss of Love and bare the breast campaigns, comedian Anoop Chandran, actor Aditi Rai, TV star and businessman Basheer Bashi, TV actor Manoj Varma, VJ and TV anchor Pearle Maaney, aspiring actor and model David John, actor Sabu, TV actor Archana Suseelan and prominent TV personality and anchor Ranjini Haridas.
Meanwhile, things have already started heating up inside the house. Rajini, who was the last to step foot inside the house didn’t waste any time to pick a fight with Sabu about his comments on her in social media and instantly asked him to apologise. At the same time, there’s a controversy doing the rounds about Sabu’s entry in the house. Apparently, a woman BJP member has lodged a criminal complaint against Sabu who accused him of writing a vulgar Facebook post. The woman in question is Lasitha Palakkal. The police has reportedly filed a complaint under section 354 a of the IPC, and 120 of the KP Act. However, the police has claimed that they have not questioned or arrested him yet given that they are yet to verify if the Facebook account that posted the offensive comments against Lasitha indeed belongs to Sabu. Meanwhile, the second season of Tamil Bigg Boss has started as well. Watch out this space for more updates.
