Is Priyanka Chopra Not Charging A Fee For Salman Khan Starrer Bharat?

Global icon Priyanka Chopra, who has been making headlines for her love-affair with American singer-songwriter Nick Jonas, is currently in India with her boyfriend as they arrived on Thursday night. The couple has been making several public appearances; they were recently spotted on a dinner date in the city. Currently, Priyanka and Nick are in Goa on a mini outing.

Priyanka Chopra, who has been juggling with multiple Hollywood projects and community work, has signed a Bollywood film ‘Bharat, opposite Salman Khan. Reportedly, the actress will begin shooting for the Ali Abbas Zafar film July onwards.

Speaking of ‘Bharat’, there were reports doing the rounds PeeCee was charging an amount of Rs 12 crores for her Bollywood comeback. However, now we hear that the actress has, in fact, not charged a single penny for Salman Khan starrer. Reportedly, Priyanka will be reuniting with her ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ co-star Salman Khan after a decade and fans can’t seem to contain their excitement about this reunion.

In a statement to an entertainment online portal, sources close to the actress said, “She has in fact generously offered to do the film for free as it is being directed by her friend Ali Abbas Zafar. As far as reports of her getting Rs 12 crores are concerned, these are attempts at being one up on Deepika Padukone who was claimed as the highest paid actress in Bollywood. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar and bankrolled by Salman’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, ‘Bharat’ is an official adaptation of the Korean film Ode To My Father and will span over 50 years. On the professional front, Priyanka, apart from shooting for the third season of ‘Quantico’, is awaiting the release of her Hollywood films, ‘A Kid Like Jake’ and ‘Isn’t It Romantic’.
