The film will emerge as Akshay Kumar’s one of the biggest successes as the film ticks all marks to be a super hit. The sports drama is not only one of the most awaited films of the year but also Akshay’s third independence day release after Rustom (2016) and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017). Known for his patriotic films, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Gold which is based on free India’s first ever Gold for Hockey. In sync with the sentiment of the film, makers of Gold decided to release the film on Independence Day due to its historic significance. India won its first Gold medal as an independent nation at the Olympics on the 12th of August 1948. Celebrating this historic occasion, the makers are all set to release the film on the 15th of August this year.
