Actor John Abraham is bringing yet another patriotic film, RAW-Romeo Akbar Walter. The film’s trailer was released recently to a positive response from the audience. RAW is the actor’s third consecutive film in which he is seen playing the role of a patriot. The actor says he’s not trying to build any niche for himself by doing patriotic films back-to-back but just choosing from what’s coming his way. John talked to a daily and also revealed the reason behind having his film released in the times when there are visible tensions between India and Pakistan. John told Mumbai Mirror that it’s just a coincidence that his film has started creating a buzz just when the two countries are trying to deal with the rift caused by terrorism. The trailer of RAW begins with “We are on the verge of a war with Pakistan”, which appears too-contemporary in time. Reacting on the same, John told the daily, “I’d like to clarify that our film was conceptualised more than a year ago, so it’s not like we planned the release around these incidents. Our release was always scheduled between March 15 to April 12 and we are coming on April 5. So, it’s not as if we’re being opportunistic or that the film is jingoistic. It’s the story of a spy, it doesn’t tell you to go bash your neighbours.” Also Read - Shah Rukh Khan Becomes Highest-Paid Actor With Pathan, Charges Whopping Rs 100 Crores For His Comeback Film

However, he added that he is aware of RAW ‘resonating with the present situation’ in the country. John said, “Having said that, it does resonate with the present situation in the country and the region, a situation that creates a platform for us to tell the country what happened in 1971. Robbie’s army background and our research make it an extremely credible film.” Also Read - Mumbai Saga Box Office Day 4: Massive Decline on Monday, Film Collects Rs 10.23 crore

Talking about curbing terrorism, the actor said that he endorses ‘war against terrorism’ but understands that such a decision would have its cons. He said, “I completely endorse (war against terrorism), terror has to be wiped out. ‘Terrorist’ is a cuss word in society. But there is a lot of collateral damage too that happens not only on our side of the border but theirs as well. A lot of lives are lost, so that’s a tough decision that is best taken by the government.”

Also featuring Jackie Shroff, Mouni Roy and Sikandar Kher in important roles, RAW-Romeo Akbar Walter is slated to hit the screens on April 5. The film is directed by Robbie Grewal and produced by Bunty Walia.
