Karan Johar takes to his Instagram to share a glimpse from his film Kalank
Karan Johar who is currently busy with his next big project Kalank recently shared a glimpse from his film featuring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Along with the still he wrote a heartfelt note revealing the idea behind the film.
Karan took to his Instagram to share the still of Varun and Alia sitting on a boat and facing their backs to the camera. Along with the picture, he wrote a heartfelt note where he mentioned about how the whole idea of Kalank came up. He wrote, “A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago….a film I passionately believe in…the last film my father worked on before he left us….it was his dream to see this film come through….I couldn’t fulfil his dream then….my spirit was broken….but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid….the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice….the film has been woven,nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN….and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on…..TOMORROW the journey begins…..am excited …anxious and emotional about this one…I do hope you join us on our path to undying love…..#KALANK”.

Apart from Alia and Varun, the film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Dutt and Hiten Tejwani in pivotal roles.
Kalank is a period drama which is set in the 40s. Directed by Abhishek Verman is slated to hit the screens on April 19.
