Finally, the song was dropped today and fans broke the Internet, watching it on repeat. Donning an indigo-coloured Manish Malhotra lehenga paired with a backless blouse, Kriti grooved to the peppy beats penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and crooned by Antara Mitra, Javed Ali and Tushar Joshi. Essaying the role of a ‘nachnewaali‘ from the pre-Independence era, Kriti completed her look with heavy jewellery and sported a nose ring to amp the look. The highly energetic song also features Aditya in a black traditional kurta while Varun was dressed in a green one. Both looked dapper as they matched steps with Kriti’s desi thumkas. Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira is a special dance track in Kalank that basically highlights the celebration on the festival of Eid. Music director Pritam talked to Times of India about the importance of the song and revealed that it’s the only song in the Abhishek Varman-directorial that shows Varun’s and Aditya’s characters together in one frame.

Pritam also revealed how Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira actually came into existence. He told the daily that Abhishek and Karan wanted a ‘masti bhara’ song to mark the celebrations but it also had to match with the old world charm that the film has. So, lyricist Amitabh immediately came with the hook-line ‘Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira‘ and Pritam built the entire song around it.

The other songs of Kalank are already crawling up the chartbuster’s list. Kalank is slated to hit the screens on April 17.
