It was followed by the Chooda or the Kalire ceremony, which is considered very auspicious in Punjabi culture. The bride usually wears bangles that are red and white, and as Ginni showed off hers, the joy on her face is very evident. Pictures and videos that were shared by a fan showed her smiling and dancing her heart out. Also Read - Kapil Sharma And Ginni Chatrath to be Parents Again, Comedian's Wife in Her Last Trimester
Traditionally, the Chooda ceremony involves the bride wearing 21 bangles that have been presented to her by her maternal uncle and aunt, but in modern times, the number of bangles have been reduced to just 7 or 9. According to Bollywood Life, the bangles are purified with milk and after the bride wears them, they are touched by the relatives as a mark of their blessings.
After marriage, the bride has to wear the Chooda for a period of one year, though some wear them for only 40 days. The bangles are then removed after the period of time is over in another ceremony.
A video that was shared on Instagram showed Ginni and her family members dancing to the tunes of a dhol and also to the hit Punjabi number, Bari Barsi Khatangayasi.
Kapil had himself taken to his social media pages to share the news about his marriage to Ginni. In the posts he had thanked his well-wishers and asked all to bless him as he began a new journey.
