Kareena Kapoor Responds to Being Called Aunty Online, Says People Think Celebrities Have no Feelings
Kareena appeared on Arbaaz Khan's chat show Pinch, and while chatting with him, she was asked to read out a negative line a Twitter user had posted against her.
The advent of social media has given access to numerous things that were not possible before, and along with the good, it has also allowed the bad in. There have been many cases of bullying online, as technology has given people the leeway to comment and post whatever they want. And just like the common man, even celebritites, who one would think have developed a thick skin to anything negative being said about them, do not escape being trashed online. One such celebrity is Kareena Kapoor, who was called aunty by a Twitter user.
Recently, while appearing on a chat show called Pinch that was hosted by Arbaaz Khan, Kareena was asked to read out a tweet that someone had written about her. In the tweet, the Twitter user had written, “U r aunty now don’t act like teenager.”
Addressing the fact that people have so much freedom online now, Kareena said, “People are just so ignorant towards celebrity feelings and their emotions. It’s as though actors, actresses do not have any feelings. We just have to take everything.”
When Arbaaz pointed out that perhaps she is not on any social media platform, Kareena said that it does not matter because she still gets all the information.
Apart from Kareena, other guests shown in the promo of the show were Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, Kapil Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Sunny Leone, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. All the stars were asked to read out a tweet that had a very negative remark about them and most just laughed them away.
On the work front, Kareena will next be seen in comedy-drama Good News alongside Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani. The movie, which is about a couple trying to get pregnant, is directed by first-timer Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, and Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
She will also star in Karan Johar’s directorial venture Takht, a historical drama that will also star Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Anil Kapoor.
