Actor Katrina Kaif is once again here, talking to the media about her past – the relationships and life choices, ahead of the release of her upcoming film Bharat, with Salman Khan. In her latest interview with a news daily, the actor talked about her equation with ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and his present girlfriend Alia Bhatt. Katrina mentioned how she brings out something from her life experiences to her each character. She added that she had to ‘break first to rebuild herself’ as she rose well in career after handling her breakup. Also Read - List of Bollywood Celebs Who Are Helping People in Fight Against COVID-19
Katrina told Mumbai Mirror that she tries to find a way to connect with what she has seen, observed or heard in life whether it’s something her own or something someone around her has faced in life. This, she says, helps her polish her acting skills better and that’s what she did while performing the character of Babita in Aanand L Rai’s Zero, that also featured Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead. When asked to reveal whether she used the phase after her breakup while performing Babita in Zero, Katrina explained that she had to ‘break before she could proceed to rebuild’ herself. She said she had to go back and feel everything that had happened (to her) and learn to accept the reality. Katrina was quoted saying, “I had to take full responsibility for my part in the equation, what I could and should have done better… And accept that the parts that I was not responsible for were not my problem.” The actor, who was appreciated for her performance in the film, said something that her mother told her really helped her to cope up in life. Katrina revealed that her mother said, ‘you feel you’re alone, but you are not. The actor went on to say that one thing she learnt from the phase was how important it is to not lose your identity as a woman when you are loving someone with all your heart and soul. The daily quoted her saying, “I’m not saying be guarded in love. No, love with all your heart. Being in a relationship is beautiful and I have a lot to give to a person. But I know now that nobody else gives you your identity.”
She was also asked to comment on how she is comfortable hugging out things with both Ranbir and Alia now, the way she was seen doing at a recent award show. Katrina said that she has a separate equation with both the stars irrespective of their present relationship. She said both the actors ‘hold their own place’ in her life as individuals and she has ‘great warmth and regard for both.’ The actor stressed upon the fact that all she wants in life is happiness and positivity, and for that she would have to let the bygones be bygones as ‘holding on to grudges makes the burden heavier.’
