Katrina Kaif who just released her film Zero along with Shah Rukh Khan is now gearing for her next Bharat where she will be seen opposite Salman Khan. A few days back, reports suggested that Katrina will be pairing up with Varun Dhawan for Remo D’souza’s upcoming dance film. Latest reports suggest that Katrina has opted out of the film due to Bharat’s hectic schedule. Also Read - Bigg Boss 14 Finale Week: Rubina Dilaik Talks About Divorce, Abhinav Shukla Cries Hard

Katrina’s official spokesperson on Saturday shared the update on the project with a statement and said, “Katrina Kaif had to opt out of Remo D’souza’s upcoming dance film owing to her hectic schedule for ‘Bharat’. Katrina has always been a thorough professional. She decided to step out of the film as her dates were clashing with ‘Bharat’, which she is currently shooting for. She wishes the team all the best.” Touted to be India’s biggest dance film, it also stars choreographer-actor-filmmaker Prabhudheva besides Dharmesh Yelande, Raghav Juyal and Punit Pathak. Remo’s first dance movie ABCD was a commercially successful and critically acclaimed film. Post that, he released another sequel of the film which featured Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. If Katrina would have starred in this one then it would have been their very first time sharing screen space.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat is going to be the big Eid release next year. Apart from Disha and Salman, the film also stars Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. It’s an official remake of popular Korean film, titled Ode to My Father, and is slated to hit the screens on June 5, 2019. Besides shooting for Bharat, Salman is also busy shooting for Bigg Boss.

The film was dragged into a controversy just before it was set to begin its shoot. Actor Priyanka Chopra left Bharat just a few days before she was scheduled to start shooting for her scenes. This made the director look for an immediate replacement and Katrina came on board as the saviour. Bharat is slated for release on June 5, 2019.
