Katrina’s entry on board the film also made for a controversial story. The character was initially accepted by Priyanka Chopra, who later stepped out of the film at the last moment citing her much-popularised wedding with Nick Jonas as the reason. Katrina immediately agreed to help the team by playing the female lead and allocated dates to the project. Later, she said that other reasons aside, she actually liked the script of Bharat and the nuances of her character.

Bharat, also featuring Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff in important roles, is the big Eid release this year. It is hitting the screens on June 5.
