Opening to outstanding reviews on the first day of its release, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Kesari chronicles a significant chapter from history as it narrates the events of the second biggest battle India fought – the Battle of Saragarhi. Akshay plays the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, a Sikh soldier who valiantly fought the Battle of Saragarhi with a chakram (a circular weapon) in one hand and a glinting sword in the other while Parineeti plays his love interest in the film. Talking about pulling off action sequences with ease in the movie, Akshay told Firstpost, “This fight is very close to martial art, it is something like Kalaripayattu. But yes, I had to learn certain new techniques. In this fight you don’t worry about your wounds, you have to just concentrate on how to kill your opponent. The last 20 minutes of the film is most exciting. I have done many genres within action but this was something creative and it will remain a memorable one.” Also Read - Akshay Kumar Demands 'Strict Action Against Culprits' Who Offered Crackers-Stuffed Pineapple to Pregnant Elephant in Kerala
Calling his character a “dream role,” Akshay shared, “I have had one of the best times doing the action sequences for Kesari because they were so raw. It was completely out of the world. The very premise of the film is something which swells my chest with pride and the climax where I had to fight hordes of men alone with the sword was just something else. Yes, action and stunts do give me a high, that is true. As they say ‘bandar kitna bhi budha ho jaye voh apni kalabaazi se baaz nahi aata.’ After doing every other genre, I come back to doing action.” Also Read - Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal Share Beautiful Pics of Sunset After Cyclone Nisarga Hit Mumbai
