Actor Akshay Kumar has released a new poster of his upcoming film Kesari. On the poster, the actor can be seen holding a sword in one hand and a Chakkar (quoit-type weapon) in the other hand. The poster also features other men holding weapons of different kinds and it seems they are gearing up to fight the Britishers. The flags of the East India Company can also be seen flapping on the poster. The still shows the valour of Akshay’s character Havildar Ishar Singh. The tagline on the poster reads, “The Bravest Battle Ever Fought”. With the new poster, Akshay has now announced the countdown for Kesari, which is slated to hit the screens on March 21.

The film is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi and shows 21 Sikh soldiers fighting against an entire Afghan army of around 10000 soldiers. In the film, Akshay’s character joins the battle to earn back the lost love of his estranged daughter. Kesari also features Parineeti Chopra in the lead. Earlier, the makers released another still from the film in which the actor was seen posing with Parineeti, who was dressed up in a Phulkari dupatta and silver jewellery as part of her look for the film.

The film is being produced by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions and has Anurag Singh helming it. Notably, Askhay has got four more releases this year. He has started shooting for another Dharma film, titled Good News with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Other films in Akshay’s kitty apart from Kesari and Good News are Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, and Sooryavanshi this year.
