The small town characters of both the actors in the film have resonated well with the audience. Luka Chuppi is the story of two people who fall in love and decide to have a live-in relationship. However, the family pressure and societal norms force them to lie that they are married and are, therefore, living together.

The chemistry between Kartik and Kriti has been especially liked by the audience. Talking about the same recently, the actor said that the entire cast of the film was like a big happy family on the sets. He told Bollywoodlife, “We (him and Kriti) both connected really well while filming for Luka Chuppi. And not only her, if you see the film, be it Aparshakti or Pankaj ji or any actor, we all were like a big happy family on the set. We all had a great time while shooting and that is reflecting on the big screen as well, the happy vibe. It worked in favour of the film.”
