Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has earned a total of Rs 3. 50 crore on its second Friday at the Box Office. The film has been doing a good business at the Box Office with an amount of Rs 64. 65 crore after its second Friday. However, yesterday saw a little dip in its earning. Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring in more money for the film, making it easier for it to crawl till Rs 100 crore. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the collection update of Manikarnika… and wrote, “#Manikarnika takes a dip on [second] Fri… Should gather speed again over the weekend… [Week 2] Fri 3.50 cr. The film has been appreciated for Kangana’s powerful performance and a strong representation of Rani Laxmibai on screen. Manikarnika…, produced by Kamal Jain and Zee Studios, has been keeping a steady pace against Uri: The Surgical Strike, which is performing even well at the Box Office. This Aditya Dhar directorial is inching towards Rs 200 crore at the Box Office. Both the films are expected to do better this weekend.
Meanwhile, Manikarnika… has been into controversies due to many issues. Recently, Mishti Chakraborty, Kangana’s co-actor in the film, accused her of chopping her role. Now, Kangana, in her response, has said that anyone who feels she has been given a lesser screen space than expected to learn from her as she never cried even when she had a two-minute appearance in a film in the past.
This week saw the release of Sonam Kapoor starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, which has done a decent business on its opening day. The film has earned Rs 3.30 crore at the Box Office, which is almost what Manikarnika… has earned on its second Friday.
Ek Ladki…, directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, is a same-sex love story and talks about the acceptance of homosexuality in Indian families. The film features Regina Cassandra as Sonam’s love interest in the film while Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla play other important roles.
