Here's what Kangana Ranaut felt on getting a chance to play Rani Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika: The Queen on Jhansi:
One of Bollywood’s most bold and versatile actor Kangana Ranaut who is not afraid of speaking her mind recently shared her experience on playing the warrior Rani Laxmibai in Manikarnika: The Queen on Jhansi. She even expressed how lucky she feels to play this part in the film.
In a recent interview with Indian Express, Ranaut said, “Usually, it’s easy to play a character that is flawed, but to take up the role of someone who was a perfect woman, was not. I felt uncomfortable when I started shooting for the film because it needed so much faith, trust and devotion. When I signed Manikarnika, my first thought was ‘How come nobody has done a film on Rani Laxmi Bai yet?’ So, I consider it a sheer stroke of luck that I am doing it. We have also tried to keep the history as precise as possible”.

The trailer of the film left everyone impressed with such great performance of all the actors. Earlier, after watching the trailer of the film, Kangana’s mother Asha Ranaut expressed her pride towards her daughter and said, “Out of all the daughters in the world I am so glad u r mine!!”

The film is a biopic on the life of one of the most celebrated female Indian warrior, Queen of Jhansi, Rani Laxmibai. Kangana plays the titular role. The trailer opens by introducing Manikarnika as the fearless woman who’s also equally beautiful and vulnerable. She has the ability to woo anyone with both her strength and beauty. Kangana seems to have perfectly fit the character.
The trailer also gives a glimpse of the other important characters in the film, Ankita Lokhande and Danny Denzongpa, who appear all sharp and powerful in their roles. The movie will release on January 25.
