The ongoing #MeToo movement has hit Bollywood hard with many prominent names from the film industry coming under the scanner. After Nana Patekar, Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Anu Malik, and Kailash Kher among others, casting agent and debutant director, Mukesh Chhabra was also accused of sexually harassing women. Two women have alleged that Chhabra harassed them in lieu of offering work in the industry. As reported by Mid-Day, while one woman alleged that he felt her up while telling her she was performing a scene, the other one alleged that he asked her to make a physical relationship with big people in the industry. Now, while Chhabra has vehemently denied all the allegations, the authorities at Fox Star Hindi have temporarily suspended his association with the company. Chhabra was directing his Bollywood debut, titled Kizie Aur Manny, produced by Fox Star Hindi. In an official statement released by the company, the makers have mentioned that they take complaints of sexual harassment at their company quite seriously and therefore, Chhabra’s services stand suspended until he’s proven not guilty. The statement read, “As a responsible organization, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment of women at workplace very seriously hence Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chabbra, director of our film, Kizzie Aur Manny, which is under productions, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company concludes its inquiry into the allegations against him”. Earlier, it was also alleged that the Kizie Aur Manny actor, Sushant Singh Rajput has also harassed the leading lady of the film, debutant Sanjana Sanghi. Denying the allegations, SSR took to Twitter to share the screenshots of his conversation with the actress and wrote, “I feel sad to reveal personal information but it seems that there is no other way to state what was, in the midst of this curated and well timed smear campaign. From the first till the last day of the shoot, this is what happened on the Set with Sanjana. (1/2)”. Even Chhabra also denied the allegations on Twitter and supported Sushant. He wrote, “I totally stand by @itsSSR – no such incident happened on the sets and let’s not have a Twitter trial and make an innocent person suffer for somebody else’s ulterior motives I had clarified this on twitter long back and I still maintain it”
