The trailer of filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia‘s next, titled Milan Talkies is out. Starring Ali Zafar and Shraddha Srinath, it’s a romantic drama in a perfect Dhulia-style. There are guns blazing and goons running as the small-town hero tries to do something heroic in love. There are caste and class differences amid all the middle-class set-up and the rusticity of a small town. Ali Zafar plays Anu, a young man who wants to be the biggest film director of the country. He falls in love with a girl who’s trying to clear her exam and belongs to a staunch Hindu family. Milan Talkies looks colourful, dramatic and absolutely up Dhulia’s alley. A few scenes from the trailer remind one of the director’s acclaimed film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. The film also promises humour with a scene in which Ali and Shraddha’s characters discuss a married couple’s sex life. In the essence of Milan Talkies, there’s everything that a Hindi film enjoyed by the audience of single-screen theatre has – romance, action, drama, humour and a relatable story. The video was launched at an event in Mumbai on February 20, Wednesday, in the presence of the film’s team. At the big event, while director talked about many things related to the film, he also announced that it will not be releasing in Pakistan due to the tragic Pulwama attack that happened on February 14, Thursday.

When asked about the same, Dhulia said, “No. It will not be released in Pakistan. There are two reasons for that. First one is that we stand in solidarity with the martyrs’ families. The second reason is that piracy of Hindi films takes place from Pakistan so, I feel that we should never release our films in Pakistan for that specific reason.”

Also featuring Ashutosh Rana, Sanjay Mishra, Reecha Sinha and Sikandar Kher in important roles, Milan Talkies is releasing on March 15.
