After director Sajid Khan, actor Nana Patekar has also stepped down from his association with Housefull 4. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Bobby Deol in the lead. After Tanushree Dutta made sexual harassment allegations against Nana and re-opened her case after 10 years, several women came forward alleging Sajid Khan of sexual misconduct. In the light of the same, Akshay Kumar, along with Riteish and Bobby, announced that they will step away from the film until the accused are proven non-guilty in the matter. Now, Nana has decided to leave the film. The statement sent to the media read, “Nana saheb thought of the convenience of everybody as he wishes the best for the producer & the crew & hence felt that stepping out of the project would be an appropriate thing to do at this point of time”. It was only a few days back that Nana had begun the shooting for the film in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer. His happy selfie posted by Farah Khan as they headed to the city to begin the shoot, created a stir on the social media. The picture was posted just a few days after Tanushree levelled allegations against Patekar stating that he touched her inappropriately during the shoot of a dance number in 2008 film Horn OK Pleasss. As Tanushree spoke out against Nana, India got its much-awaited #MeToo movement, which was earlier only limited to the West. After Nana, prominent names like Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher, Anu Malik, Piyush Mishra, Rajat Kapoor, Subhash Ghai, Luv Ranjan and Sajid Khan among others surfaced on the social media.

Nana earlier called media at his place and promised a press conference on the matter. However, as he returned from Jaisalmer, he told the media that he can’t say much as the matter is subjudice now. He then added that nothing changes the truth and his statement remains the same as it was 10 years back.
