Notebook, directed by Nitin Kakkar introduces Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl in the Hindi film industry. For those who don’t know, Pranutan is the daughter of actor Mohnish Bahl. The film is produced by Salma Khan (Salman Khan’s mother), Murad Khetani, and Ashwin Varde.

Earlier, another song from the film titled Nai Lagda was released to a positive response. The video featured the two leading stars embracing the pain of love. Nai Lagda was composed and sung by Vishal Mishra. Nai Lagda showed the two actors emoting their deepest feelings like the ones who can’t live without each other. The film is a debut launch pad for Pranutan and Zaheer.

Shot in Kashmir extensively, the film traverses through picturesque backdrops and narrates the story of a remotely located school which hosts students who are attached to Pranutan’s character but not warm to Zaheer. The two adults bond over a notebook in which a female teacher, Pranutan, shares her thoughts and Zaheer starts writing back to her. Despite never meeting face to face, they fall in love before the build-up to the climax. Pranutan is about to tie the knot. The trailer ends on the cliffhanger of whether and how Zaheer manages to stop her from getting married and confesses his love to his mystery lover.
