Priyanka Chopra’s Looks in Salman Khan’s Bharat Modelled on Classic Actors
Priyanka Chopra will be seen in five different Avatar in Salman Khan starrer Bharat, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar
Priyanka Chopra who was busy with her American series Quantico has returned to India to work on her upcoming film Bharat opposite Salman Khan. The actor was last seen in Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangaajal and had no Hindi release in the past two years. It was earlier reported that Salman will have not one but five transformations in the film. The actor’s Maine Pyar Kiya look will be recreated in this film.
Now, director Ali revealed that Priyanka too will sport five different looks. He says, “Like Salman, PC will also sport five different looks. She will age from 28 to 60 years, while he will age from 25 to 65 years in the film.” It was also revealed that Salman might need the same age-reduction technique that was used in the film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, but not Priyanka. “We will use a mix of prosthetics, make-up, and VFX,” he added. Ali even mentions that the team is working on a lot of research on the different eras and that all the avatars of Priyanka will be modeled on old Hindi actors. He said, “Each of PC’s avatars will be modelled on actresses like Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Sharmila Tagore and Shabana Azmi. It will encompass the styles of each of these heroines from the ’60s to 2010.”
“Bharat’s story starts in 1947 and ends in 2010. It will show Salman and Priyanka’s characters age through the years,” he added. The film will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is an adaptation of a Korean film Ode To My Father. The film will go on floors next month and are planning to wrap it up within six months. Reportedly, the film will be extensively shot in locales of Punjab, Delhi, Abu Dhabi and Spain. Bharat is slated to hit the silver screen on Eid, next year.
