An outsider who swiftly drove the past decade of Bollywood in his stride, Ranveer Singh is no less than a live wire and his raging box office figures are proof of the same. Currently on a vacation with Deepika Padukone, Ranveer, who has been missing from social media for quite some time, set the Internet on fire with the latest flood of pictures, a new rap song and a magazine cover. Taking to his Instagram handle, the ’83 star shared a couple of suited booted pictures as he flaunted off a new watch collection. In a video, Ranveer is seen rapping for an advertisement and the new track made Gully Boy co-star MC Sher aka Siddhant Chaturvedi gush with love. Lastly, Ranveer shared a picture featuring him in a black leather jacket, black tee, a pair of jeans and a pair of yellow sunglasses. On the professional front, Ranveer is gearing up for Kabir Khan’s ’83, which traces India’s historic victory at the 1983 cricket World Cup. While Ranveer portrays the team’s captain Kapil Dev, Deepika plays his wife Romi. The film is presented by Reliance Entertainment and is scheduled to release on April 10 next year in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
This is Ranveer and Deepika’s first film together after their wedding last year. The couple previously co-starred in megahits Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
Apart from this, Ranveer has wrapped up shooting for Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Helmed by debutant writer-director Divyang, the movie is a humorous entertainer set in Gujarat. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of a Gujarati man Jayeshbhai, the hero who will be seen championing the cause of women empowerment in the most entertaining way of story-telling.
Ranveer also has Karan Johar’s Takht in his kitty which is based on the Mughal era. Earlier, in his interview with Neha Dhupia, Karan had revealed that it’s the story about Mughal ruler Shahjahan’s two sons – Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh and their tryst with the throne. Kareena is believed to be playing the role of Jahanara Begum – the first lady of the Mughal empire while Anil essays the role of king Shahjahan. With Takht, KJo is returning to direct a film after a hiatus of four years. The movie stars Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Jahnvi Kapoor.
