Featuring in 12 different avatars in a calendar, actress Richa Chadha is reportedly striking poses inspired by posters of pulp movies from the 1990s to promote her upcoming film Shakeela. Each of the twelve months has the Love Sonia star posing in a new avatar with a thoroughly made up poster of a fictional movie name and similar elements in the calendar that is to be launched soon. In an interview to IANS, Richa said, “Even though our film is currently in post-production, we wanted to do something special ahead of the film’s release. The team thought we should pay this homage to her (Shakeela) and the films that she has been a part of. It is quirky and tongue in cheek, so we are aware many people may not understand it. But there’s an underbelly to cinema and it’s often crazy and colourful. I hope people find the humour we did in this calendar and enjoy the world of these 1990s’ pulp films.” Also Read - What Kamala Harris' Win in US Election Means to Indian Women - Priyanka Chopra, Richa Chadha And Masaba Gupta Explain it Right!

According to the news agency, the calendar will be bearing a disclaimer to the consumers that every image and poster in it has to be simply taken in light humour and it bears no resemblance to any real-life inspired people or any other actual films. In a recently released poster from the film Shakeela, the actress can be seen donning a retro avatar.

Earlier, Richa had retweeted the audio poster and captioned it as, ”Thoda aur intezaar, aur taufa aapka.”

Shakeela is a biopic on popular Indian adult film actress of the same name, who made it big in the low budget film world. The movie is slated to hit the screens this year and the film’s posters have already created a stir in the grapevine with the new one being praised for showcasing colourful 90s vibes.
