Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan are good friends. The two worked together in hit film, Chennai Express, also featuring Deepika Padukone. Now, both of them are gearing up for the release of their upcoming biggies. While SRK has Zero, directed by Aanand L Rai; Rohit has Simmba, featuring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. Both the two big films are slated to hit the screens in December this year. There’s also a lot of buzz around both the films. Even though Zero and Simmba are releasing in December, the two are avoiding Box Office clash. Zero is releasing on December 21 while Simmba has December 28 as its release date. Rohit recently revealed that it was a well thought of decision. Interacting with the media during an event, the filmmaker talked about releasing his film a week after Shah Rukh‘s Zero. He mentioned that earlier the two films were set to face a Box Office clash but both the teams sat together and took a mutual decision to avoid the same release date. Rohit said, “We decided not to come together because that would affect numbers. It was a mutual decision. If the film does well in the first week, it will go on. I think one week is enough and there is no competition. Earlier, we were planning to come on the same day, but then we went into a discussion.”

Rohit’s Simmba is also going to be the launch pad for Sara in Bollywood, as the reports have suggested so far. The film is a total Masala entertainer, much like the filmmaker’s other on-screen offerings. Zero, though has got a more sensitive subject to deal. It’s a story of a little man who is an ardent fan of an actress. Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma are playing the other important roles in the film. In fact, it also has a special number with Salman Khan performing with the King Khan. The glimpse of the same was released as an Eid gift to the audience, earlier this year.
