Actor Priyanka Chopra stepped out of Ali Abbas Zafar‘s Bharat at the last moment and the role went to Katrina Kaif. Now that the film is less than a month away from its release, actor Salman Khan is out to promote it among the audience. During a promotional interaction on social media recently, the actor made a statement that looked like a sly dig at Priyanka for leaving Bharat. Both Salman and Katrina were interacting with their fans in a Twitter chat when a user asked the latter about how much time she took to prepare for her role in the film. Katrina is playing the character of a government officer Kumud Raina in Bharat. Now when she was asked about her preparation, she mentioned that once the physical appearance of Kumud was decided, it didn’t take a lot of time for her to get into the skin of the role. However, Salman had something interesting to add to Katrina’s answer. Taking a jab at Priyanka, the actor said that she didn’t leave much time for Katrina to prepare for her role. So, while Katrina said, “I had two months to prepare once we cracked the physicality and hair, everything fell in place,” Salman added, “Priyanka did not give us much time.” Also Read - Salman Khan on Radhe Releasing on OTT: Promised Fans to Release on Eid, May 13

Earlier, in her interview with a news daily, Katrina maintained that she agreed to work on Bharat because she loved the character and found it challenging. She mentioned that even though director Ali is one of her good friends, he never pressurised her and instead gave her the script while asking her to take the right decision.

In another interview, Ali recently mentioned that he understood when Priyanka revealed the reason why she was leaving the film. He added that her decision hasn’t affected their equation as such things happen in life. Earlier, during an event last year, when Salman was asked to comment on the entire issue, he revealed that it was Priyanka who called Ali and requested him to give her a role in Bharat.
