Actress Manisha Koirala remained away from the limelight ever since she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In 2012, the actress appeared in Ram Gopal Varma’s horror sequel Bhoot Returns. Later that year, she took a break from acting after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After six months of treatment, Koirala recovered from the condition and three years later, her much delayed psychological thriller Chehere: A Modern Day Classic was released in 2015. Manisha recently made a comeback with 2017 film Dear Maya where she played the role of a middle-aged woman who embarks on a journey to find love. Manisha will now be seen playing Sanjay Dutt’s mother Nargis Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s highly-awaited biopic Sanju. With film’s release around the corner, the Dil Se actress is currently busy in film’s promotions. In a recent interview with, Manisha opened up about playing Nargis Dutt in Sanju and said she was little apprehensive to take up the project as she was not sure if she could do justice to the role. She said, “I was a little apprehensive because of the health factor. The health history of Nargis Dutt ji and mine. I wasn’t sure if I could be in that frame of mind, or in that space, to do justice. So I was a bit apprehensive initially. I came here to meet Raj sir (Rajkumar Hirani). Manisha further said, “This movie actually deals with the time when troubles started in his life. It was towards the last leg of Nargis Dutt ji’s love. I am there but it deals more with father-son, friends and things like that.” Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt, the biopic also stars Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor, and Dia Mirza in key roles.
