Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are one of the most loved couples in Bollywood. The two have become parents for the second time to a boy, named Zain Kapoor. It was last night itself that the couple posed for the cameras at the screening of Shahid’s upcoming film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film addresses the issue of electricity shortage in some parts of the country. It’s a film made on a social issue and something that attracted Mira before it clicked Shahid. The actor has already revealed this multiple times that he signed Batti Gul Meter Chalu because Mira wanted him to do the film. However, in a recent conversation with Bollywoodlife, Shahid talked about it in detail.

He revealed that not just Mira asked him to take up the film, which also features Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam, but also made him aware of the real problem that the film talks about. Shahid told the portal, “She was the first one who read the script because I was shooting, and she really liked the content, felt it was relevant. She told me to address it seriously. And her conviction in it was definitely something that contributed to me reading it seriously and today here we are! She was the first person to bring it to my notice that this is an issue that should be made into the movie because it matters”.

When asked how much does Mira contribute to his decision of choosing a script, Shahid said that his wife has thousand other things to do. He added, “She has other things to do. She is not with me 24×7 but you know how two people are who share a life—you discuss things, you share about things. This was one of those things that just happened. But if there is something I’m excited about, I definitely share it with her”.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu hits the theatres this Friday on September 21.
