The shooting for the movie had begun on August 20, 2018, and some pictures had been released earlier showing the two in their desi avatar. This is the second time that Sidharth and Parineeti are sharing screen space after having worked together in Hasee Toh Phasee.
The other stars who are part of the film are Javed Jaffrey, Sanjai Mishra, Aparshakti Khurana, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Sheeba Chaddha, Aaryan Arora, Gurket Kaur, and Alankrita Sahai.
The idea for the movie had been conceived by writer Sanjeev K Jha who is from Bihar and was aware that such a practice of forced marriage was prevalent in his state.
Parineeti was last seen in movie Namaste England opposite Arjun Kapoor, and her next screen appearance will be in Kesari alongside Akshay Kumar, and in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar opposite Arjun Kapoor.
