Simmba has crossed the Rs 225 cr benchmark within 18 days of its release. Here’s what Adarsh wrote about the entire business the film has done at the Box Office:

The film is Rohit’s eighth entry in the coveted Rs 100 cr club at Box Office. He has become the only Bollywood director with eight back-to-back Rs 100 cr films at the ticket window. Simmba is also Sara’s first film to have gone past Rs 200 cr at Box Office.

Earlier, talking about casting Ranveer to play the titular role in the film, Rohit told IANS, “We have worked together in an ad film and that is when we started planning to collaborate for a film. But I couldn’t have imagined making Simmba if not for Ranveer Singh, because he is the only actor, who has the strength to pull out such a character”.

He added, “This is the first time we will see Ranveer playing a policeman in an action film. There are certain colourful elements in the character of ‘Simmba’ that Ranveer also has. So, I really had to change my writing if Ranveer would have said ‘no’ to my film. There is a lot of energy in the character, so as in him.”
