Actor Sonu Sood has written an emotional post for his late parents on Instagram. The actor is currently enjoying the success of his latest release, Simmba. He has mentioned in the post that while everyone is congratulating him for his performance in the film, he misses the appreciation from his parents. The post also has Sonu revisiting the time when he would get calls from his mother after failing to perform in films. He has written how he always got the motivation to get up and work harder from what his parents used to tell him in difficult times. In a beautiful Instagram post, Sonu has said, “Today when I sit and attend congratulatory calls from so many people on the success of my new movie, there is one call I miss the most… A call from you both. Today everything feels incomplete without you. Wish I could sit in a theater with you and watch my film. The applause and whistles would have justified the time I had spent away from you during my struggling days”. Sonu has played the antagonist Durva Ranade in Simmba. The actor had earlier revealed how director Rohit Shetty hugged him and praised his performance on the first day of the shoot. Talking to Pinkvilla, he mentioned, “I always feel that destiny brings you to the place where you belong to. Durva Ranade was always written for me. On the first day, when we did the first shot, Rohit came, hugged me and said, ‘Durva is going to be big for you.’ Finally, it happened”.

Sonu is not new to playing negative characters on-screen. He has played the villain in his previous other films including Dabangg (2010) and R… Rajkumar (2013). The actor has also received many prominent film awards for his performances in negative roles in both Hindi and Tamil/ Telugu cinema.
