Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier’s upcoming film Sridevi Bungalow’s second teaser has been released. In the video, Priya’s character talks about her true love and fears she is carrying beneath her. The teaser shows the glimpses of several men in her life and the distressed situation she is going through. As per the reports, Priya’s character is inspired by one of the most unfortunate incidents happened to the Hindi film industry- Sridevi’s death. However, Priya denied all assumptions and said, “I don’t think it (Sridevi Bungalow) is inspired by anyone. It is a fictitious story. I liked the story during the narration itself.” According to her, the curiosity surrounding the trailer felt good and hence, she wanted to leave it to the audience to judge if the film is based on the veteran actress Sridevi. Earlier, the first teaser of the movie was released and it irked a lot of Bollywood celebrities. The makers of the film have tried to portray Priya as legendary actress Sridevi. The film appears to be the story of the actress’ starry film journey and how she died by drowning in a bathtub.
After Boney Kapoor slammed a legal notice against the makers, asking them to change the movie title within 24 hours. Director Prasanth Mambully denied it and said, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it”. Talking to Deccan Chronical about the one thing she liked in the story, Priya said “The story is based on a female superstar. And I was happy to get to play this role. The entire story focuses on the superstar. Obviously for me to get such a meaty role as my debut film …why would I say “No” to it.” (sic)
