Anushka Sharma, who will be next seen in Sui Dhaaga-Made in India opposite Varun Dhawan will be seen in a no glamour role for the first time on silver screen. In her bid to get perfection for the character of embroidery artist Mamta, she went an extra mile and took two months of training before the shooting of the film began. The Pari actress was familiar with the basics of the stitching art as she has been trained a little bit during her school days. However, director Sharat Katariya and producer Maneesh Sharma felt that it is important for her to master in various forms of stitching. A source close to Anushka revealed, “Anushka trained under an embroidery expert, Ayesha Bibi. The 30-year-old actor’s admiration was backed by her good friend and film’s producer Maneesh as he knew Anushka’s penchant for Method acting. He spoke to a leading daily and said, “Anushka becomes the character she plays on screen. Before she gave the first shot, she had become a natural at embroidery. Anushka also spoke to a leading daily about her learning experience and said, “It was a thrill of picking up a new skill that kept me motivated. I’m always up for a new challenge with my films. I knew I had to look the part and also seem at ease with needlework. I had to put in considerable effort and time to look like an authentic embroiders.”

Sui Dhaga – Made In India is based on the story of self-reliance and high spirits of the two lead characters- Mamta and Mauji. Sharat Kataria has helmed the project and it has been bankrolled by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of YRF. The movie is all set to hit the screens on September 28, 2018. Well, it will be interesting to see Anushka and Varun in totally different avatars.

On a related note, Anushka will also be seen in Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. On the other hand, Varun is all set to feature in Karan Johar’s Kalank alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt.
