Setting a high benchmark to braving unseen wars, Ayushmann Khurrana‘s filmmaker wife Tahira Kashyap battles the disease with grits of steal and fans on social media can vouch for it. Coming forward to reveal in a recent interview about the five men important men in her life, Tahira stated how her husband-actor Ayushmann, brother-in-law Aparshakti Khurana, friend Rochak Kohli, father Yajan Kashyap and son Virajveer helped her see through the battle with cancer. Talking to HT Brunch about Ayushmann’s reaction, Tahira shared, “I could see it was emotionally taxing for him. He maintained his calm while juggling between his professional and personal life. All with that wonderful smile. Only a real-life hero can do that. As for her “confidant” Aparshakti, Tahira revealed, “Aparshakti was shooting for his film when he found out, so he’d work the whole day and visit me at night. He is an amazing family member-cum-confidant and a friend for me! He offers comic relief, and he’s my go-to person for food and clothes. He got me my favourite cuisine, and tried to make us all laugh.”
Recently, Tahira uploaded a post on her Instagram handle about body positivity and how important it is to accept yourself irrespective of whether you have long hair, short hair or no hair. Tahira posted a few photos that showed how she dealt with hair loss due to cancer. Her post talked about the importance of embracing yourself even during the harshest of times even when your body doesn’t look like how you always expected it to be.
Filmmaker Tahira Kashyap is a true fighter. She bravely fought with cancer and emerged as the winner. Earlier, she didn’t shy away from sharing her bald pictures and was applauded by many including her husband. On a related note, Tahira has written a book and is all set to make her debut as a director. The project will be bankrolled by T Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Ellipsis Entertainment’s Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar.
